IRIS / ISO 22163 certification readiness
Connect rail quality requirements to project delivery, configuration control and measurable process performance.
Standards and scheme rules
Use the current published baseline.
Public-source review: 2 November 2026. Check the official references below for subsequent changes before contracting an audit.
Scope before schedule
Confirm what the certificate must cover.
Define rail products, services, sites, business categories and certification activities with an approved IRIS certification body. Distinguish implementing ISO 22163 from gaining certification under the IRIS scheme.
Practical preparation
Prepare evidence from real work.
Requirements and projects
Trace customer requirements to project reviews, responsibilities and delivery evidence. Record changes and the decisions needed before work proceeds.
Configuration and suppliers
Connect design and configuration baselines to purchasing, production and externally provided processes. Review interfaces where safety or delivery depends on a supplier.
Risk and performance
Prepare risk reviews, relevant performance indicators and customer feedback. Assess climate relevance and interested-party requirements under the applicable amendment.
Scheme assessment
Use the current performance-assessment publication and portal tools to confirm scope, assessment method and evidence. Agree readiness review and audit arrangements with the approved certification body.
These are preparation topics, not a complete clause checklist. Use licensed standards and the applicable scheme documents to define the full requirements.
Decision boundaries
Keep certification and approval separate.
IRIS certification does not provide product safety authorisation, rolling-stock approval or automatic customer acceptance. Contractual safety and technical acceptance remain separate.
Suriyavaan provides scoped advisory preparation. Independent certification bodies and responsible authorities make certification and approval decisions; no outcome is guaranteed.
