Suriyavaan Solutions Private Limited ("Suriyavaan", "we", "us") acts as the Data Fiduciary for the personal data described in this policy, under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act"). This policy explains, in a straightforward manner, what we collect when you interact with us through this website, Cal.com bookings, WhatsApp, and email; why we collect it; and the rights that you hold over it.
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to measure which pages are useful to visitors, and only after you have given your acceptance. Until you make that choice, no analytics script is loaded and no Google cookies are set on your device; and if you decline, none are ever set at all. Your choice is stored locally on your own device (in the browser's localStorage, under the key sv-consent) and is never transmitted back to us. IP addresses are anonymised before any processing takes place. We do not use advertising pixels, we do not sell personal data to anyone, and we do not run retargeting campaigns of any kind.
Separately from that consent choice, if you arrive at this site through a campaign link, we store the utm_ parameters from that link in your browser’s sessionStorage for the duration of the browser tab, so that we are able to know which platform a particular enquiry has come from. This storage holds no personal data, is never read by any third party, and is automatically cleared the moment you close the tab. Your light or dark theme preference is likewise stored on your own device, using the same mechanism (sv-theme).

Suriyavaan is a Startup India-recognised MSME advisory practice, and is not classified as a Significant Data Fiduciary under the DPDP Act. We have not appointed a separate Data Protection Officer for this purpose; the contact mentioned above personally handles all grievances and data-principal requests.
2. What personal data we collect, and how

We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone below the age of 18 years. If you believe that a minor has shared personal data with us, please contact us using the details given above, and we will delete it promptly.
3. Legal basis and consent
We process your personal data on the basis of the consent that you give us, when you voluntarily book a diagnostic, message us on WhatsApp, or send us an email. Providing this data is entirely optional; however, we cannot schedule a diagnostic call or respond to your enquiry without at least a name and some way of contacting you back. You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to simon@suriyavaan.com. Please note that withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing that was carried out before you withdrew it, and it may mean that we are no longer able to complete a booking or engagement that is already in progress.
4. Who we share data with
We do not sell or rent out personal data to anyone. We share only the minimum data that is necessary, with:
- Cal.com (booking and scheduling platform), to manage your diagnostic booking.
- WhatsApp Business (Meta Platforms, Inc.), if you choose to message us on WhatsApp.
- Our email and telephony providers, to send and receive correspondence and calls.
- Professional advisors (e.g. our accountant or legal counsel), only where necessary and under confidentiality obligations.
- Regulators or courts, only where required by Indian law.
Some of these processors may store or process data outside India. The DPDP Act permits the cross-border transfer of personal data, except to countries that the Central Government restricts by notification; as of the effective date mentioned above, no such restriction affects any of the processors listed here.
5. How long we keep your data
We retain enquiry and booking data for as long as it is needed to deliver the service you contacted us about, plus a reasonable period thereafter for legitimate business record-keeping purposes (typically up to 3 years from the date of last contact), unless you ask us to erase it sooner, or unless a longer retention period is required by law (for example, financial and tax records under the Companies Act and GST law).
6. Your rights as a Data Principal
Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:
- Obtain a summary of the personal data we hold about you and the processing we carry out.
- Request correction, completion, or updating of your personal data.
- Request erasure of your personal data, once it is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected for.
- Withdraw consent at any time, as described in Section 3.
- Nominate another individual to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of death or incapacity.
- Register a grievance and have it addressed within a reasonable time.
To exercise any of these rights, please write to simon@suriyavaan.com. We will respond to you within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India, once it has been operationalised.
7. How we protect your data
We apply reasonable security safeguards that are appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we hold — this includes restricted access, secured devices and accounts, and the use of reputable third-party processors who carry their own security commitments. That said, no system can ever be completely secure; if a breach does occur that is likely to affect you, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and the affected individuals, as required under Section 8(6) of the DPDP Act.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, as our practice, our tools, or the law change. The effective date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version. Material changes will be reflected here, and we encourage you to review this page periodically.
