SMLDI 2025 · LICENSED DEFENCE INDUSTRY SECURITY

Security controls
that hold together
in daily work.

Connect security requirements to your people, premises, information and material flows. Build a scoped implementation with visible ownership and reviewable evidence.

APPLICABILITY FIRST

Turn security obligations
into owned operating controls.

The Security Manual for Licensed Defence Industries (SMLDI), revised in 2025, addresses licensed defence companies and DPSUs, with requirements organised by category. We begin with your licence, product scope, information classification and contractual obligations.

01

Map the boundary

Identify the activities, locations, information and supply-chain interfaces that need to be covered. Establish the applicable obligations with your responsible security and engineering owners.

02

Build the controls

Translate the agreed requirements into responsibilities, workflows and evidence for personnel, premises, materials, documents and information systems.

03

Verify the operation

Review implementation, test evidence retrieval and document gaps. Assign corrective actions and prepare for the applicable security assessment.

AN INTEGRATED IMPLEMENTATION

Security belongs in the workflow.

Physical security, information handling and operational records interact. Our role is to help your team build and demonstrate a coherent implementation across those interfaces.

  • Applicability and responsibility matrix
  • Material movement and gate-pass evidence
  • Document classification and handling workflows
  • Personnel, visitor and access-control records
  • Information-system boundary and approved data flows
  • Internal review, incident actions and closure evidence

SuriyaONE within the approved boundary.

On-premises SuriyaONE deployment is scoped around the buyer’s permitted information environment. Air-gapping is one part of the security architecture; operating controls, people and assurance still need to be established and verified.

QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU COMMIT

Confirm the scope before choosing technology.

Does the same security requirement apply to every supplier?

Applicability depends on the licence, product category, information and contract. We review those inputs before defining a programme and confirm current directions with the appropriate authority or specialist adviser.

Does installing SuriyaONE establish compliance?

Compliance depends on the complete implementation and its operation. SuriyaONE supports records, ownership and evidence within an agreed scope; an installation alone does not establish compliance or regulatory approval.

Can a buyer approve a public-cloud deployment?

A buyer’s sign-off is an additional commercial and technical decision. It cannot override applicable classification, licence, security-manual or contractual restrictions. Any permitted cloud build requires a separate assessment and removal of designated functions from the code.
