NADCAP · SPECIAL-PROCESS ADVISORY

Prepare the process.
Demonstrate control.
Sustain the discipline.

Advisory for special-process accreditation readiness and continuing oversight, connected to the people, controls and records behind daily operations.

READINESS & CONTINUING OVERSIGHT

Build process discipline.
Keep it working between audits.

Suriyavaan provides advisory for Nadcap special-process accreditation readiness and ongoing oversight. Begin with the customer flow-down, intended commodity and audit scope, existing controls and the evidence your people can demonstrate.

01

Establish the applicable scope

Review customer requirements, relevant audit criteria and the process boundary. Agree the commodity-specific competence and resources needed for the engagement.

02

Prepare and examine evidence

Support gap assessment, process ownership, internal job-audit preparation and corrective-action follow-up against the agreed requirements.

03

Sustain the controls

Agree an oversight cadence for changes, exceptions, competence, supplier status and corrective-action effectiveness. Maintain visibility of upcoming accreditation obligations.

DELIVERABLES TO AGREE

Make each gap owned
and each closure reviewable.

Each engagement is scoped to the actual process and customer obligations. Examples of possible commodity areas include heat treating, chemical processing, coatings, non-destructive testing, welding, composites and testing laboratories. Technical coverage is confirmed before acceptance of the work.

  • Commodity-scope and customer-requirement review
  • Gap and evidence register with owners
  • Internal job-audit and readiness review support
  • Nonconformance and corrective-action tracking
  • Process-change and competence review arrangements
  • Ongoing oversight and reaccreditation action calendar

Connect oversight with the operational record.

SuriyaONE can support the agreed evidence, responsibility and follow-up workflows. An installed system or a completed register does not establish process conformity or accreditation.

UNDERSTAND THE DISTINCTION

Advisory support.
Independent accreditation decisions.

Is Nadcap the same as AS9100 certification?

Nadcap addresses specific critical-process accreditation and operates alongside the applicable quality-system and customer requirements. The engagement starts with the scope actually required by your customers.

Can Suriyavaan grant Nadcap accreditation?

No. Nadcap is an industry-managed programme administered by PRI, with accreditation decisions made through its programme governance. Suriyavaan offers independent advisory and oversight; it does not act for PRI or guarantee an accreditation result.

What does ongoing oversight mean?

An agreed schedule of evidence reviews, action follow-up and escalation with your process owners. This is advisory oversight; it does not replace official audits, customer acceptance, statutory duties or your own operational responsibility.

Will you cover every special process?

Coverage, named delivery competence and any necessary specialist participation are agreed for the selected commodity before the engagement. The list of process examples is not a claim of universal in-house specialist capability.

COMMODITY & AUDIT READINESS MATRIX

Start with the process.
Follow the job evidence.

Use these commodity areas to frame a scope discussion. The labels are navigation shorthand; the current PRI programme, audit criteria and customer requirements determine the actual accreditation scope. Technical coverage and named specialist competence are confirmed before accepting work.

Indicative evidence to discuss; not a complete audit checklist or universal capability claim.

From eAuditNet criteria to sustained controls.

  1. Confirm scope. Establish customer flow-down and applicable commodity criteria in PRI EAN / eAuditNet.
  2. Run the self-audit. Use the applicable checklist revision and identify evidence, gaps and responsible owners.
  3. Follow real jobs. Examine representative job records against process controls, personnel and equipment requirements.
  4. Close causes. Connect nonconformances to root causes, corrective actions and effectiveness evidence; complete required programme submissions.
  5. Sustain readiness. Review changes, competence, recurring exceptions and upcoming audit obligations between official audits.

Agree programme-specific deadlines and submissions against current PRI instructions. Official audits and accreditation decisions remain with PRI/Nadcap programme governance. References: PRI commodity programmes · PRI getting started · eAuditNet auditee guidance.

REPRESENTATIVE READINESS SCENARIOS

Recognise the pattern.
Define the evidence to examine.

Illustrative operational situations informed by Simon’s 25+ years of frontline experience. These are not client case studies, measured results or promises of approval; no confidential client records are shown.

01 / CUSTOMER APPROVAL

Certified, but blocked at the OEM audit.

Starting point: An AS9100-certified supplier cannot demonstrate complete purchase-order flow-down, FAI or special-process traceability.

Readiness work: Trace a representative order through AS9102 evidence and source-process records. Assign each confirmed gap to an owner and verify the corrected control on another job.

Evidence to review: Requirement-to-record traceability and unresolved exceptions. Customer approval remains the customer’s decision.

02 / RECURRING FINDINGS

The same finding returns.

Starting point: Corrective-action paperwork closes, but the operational failure repeats at surveillance.

Readiness work: Establish the process owner, test the proposed root cause and examine whether the revised control works during normal operations.

Evidence to review: Repeat occurrences, overdue actions and effectiveness checks across an agreed sample and review period.

03 / DEFENCE MARKET ENTRY

A small team faces several approval pathways.

Starting point: A DeepTech startup with fewer than 100 people is planning an Indian defence programme.

Readiness work: Assess the actual design, production and licensed activities before sequencing CEMILAC DOAS, DGAQA AFQMS and SMLDI 2025 requirements where applicable.

Evidence to review: A scoped applicability map, authority interfaces and investment dependencies. Each pathway is assessed separately.
